Mr. Darin Graber is the Director of Bands and Fine Arts Department Chair at Bingham High School. He received his Associates Degree from Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson, KS. while attending on a full jazz scholarship; his Bachelors of Music Education Degree with an emphasis in secondary instrumental music from the University of Kansas , Lawrence , KS.; and a Masters Degree in instrumental conducting from Washington State University , Pullman WA . He is a member of Kansas Music Educators Association, Utah Music Educators Association, Washington Music educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, Kansas Bandmasters Association, National Band Association, Kappa Kappa Psi, SPEBSQSA, and the American Federation of Musicians #110 Originally from the Midwest, Mr. Graber taught six years of instrumental music from the middle school through high school levels in several different districts in northeast Kansas. There, his bands consistently received superior ratings both in marching competitions and concert literature performance. He then moved to Washington State University for two years where he was the assistant director of the WSU Cougar marching band, director of women's athletic bands, and was co-director of the WSU Symphonic Band during his Masters studies. While there, the 210-member WSU Cougar marching band performed on national television marching in the 1998 Rose Bowl parade and performing for half-time of the 106th Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. Mr. Graber was a member of the Idaho/Washington Symphony Orchestra and has performed professionally on trumpet with such musical and jazz giants as James Moody, David Steinmeyer, Clark Terry, David Foster, Frank Mantooth and Aaron Neville and the Neville Brothers. He has also performed on several albums and done some studio and commercial work in the Kansas City area. He enjoys restoring British sports cars and now makes his home is South Jordan Utah with his wife Elaine and his dog Kizmet.
